Istanbul comes at the forefront of Turkish cities in terms of location, area and population, and it is located on both sides of the Bosphorus Strait that separates the continent of Asia from the continent of Europe, and it overlooks the Black Sea from the northern side and the Marmara Sea from the southern side, and its population 16 million people.

Among the largest Turkish cities besides Istanbul and Ankara is Izmir, with a population of 4.3 million, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, then Bursa, with a population of 3 million, then Antalya, with a population of 2.5 million, then Adana,  Gaziantep,  Trabzon and  Bodrum.

The political system in Turkey

The establishment of the modern Turkish state dates back to 1923, after the end of the Ottoman Caliphate. According to its current constitution, it is a presidential democratic republic, its official language is Turkish. Governance is distributed among three independent authorities: The legislative authority, represented by a parliament directly elected by the people. The executive authority is represented by the Council of Ministers headed by the President of the Republic. The judicial authority is headed by the Supreme Judicial Council, and citizens in Turkey are equal before the law and the judiciary, regardless of their nationalities, religions and social status.

Turkish economy – currency, gross product and exports

Turkey has a free economy, in which the people have absolute freedom to engage in trade, industry, agriculture, free professions, or service work, and for that there are only limited controls within the narrowest limits to ensure quality and justice, as regulated by law. Even foreigners, in Turkey, enjoy the right to work and invest in the vast majority of businesses and professions.

The monetary unit in Turkey is the lira.

Turkey’s ranking in the global economy in the year 2021 reached the 11th rank, according to the reports of the International Monetary Fund. The growth rate of the Turkish economy in 2022 was (7.5%).

Experts expect, as promised by the Turkish president, that in the current year 2023 Turkey will be among the top ten economies in the world.

Turkey’s GDP in 2021 amounted to /815.27/ billion US dollars.

And the volume of Turkish exports in the past year 2022 amounted to / 254.2 / billion US dollars.

And by virtue of economic prosperity, huge production, freedom of supply and demand, and intense competition, the prices of products and services in Turkey are the most moderate and fair. This is one of the reasons for the demand to live in Turkey.

Tourism in Turkey

Tourism in Turkey is one of the most important tributaries of the Turkish economy, as it is ranked sixth in the world as a tourist destination. Education in Turkey

Health and medicine in Turkey

Turkey has a high level of medical services , and medical cities , hospitals and medical centers , governmental and private , are spread in it on a very wide scale . And government medical services are free for members of the Turkish people.

As for foreigners, it is paid, but at a moderate level compared to medical services in parallel European and American countries.
